About the NAP games
Written on July 24, 2010 – 11:34 pm | by Laura |The ACBL coordinates various special bridge games throughout the year to be held at sanctioned clubs. Among them are the North American Pairs (NAP) games. This bridge contest starts off at clubs, where players must qualify to compete at the District level. After the specially held games, the club manager should be able to tell you if you did well enough to qualify. Each district coordinates NAP finals for 3 flights. The winners of these events represent the District at the Nationals and play against all other NAP winners. In addition to representing the unit – the winners receive money for the trip to the Nationals.
NAP NORTH AMERICAN PAIRS CLASS B
On Saturday September 25 at the site of the Syracuse Sectional will be the Finals for the NAP North American Pairs Class B two session event. This will be a split site event with the Wilmington Sectional. If you win, you get MONEY towards your trip to the Nationals and you get to represent us! Your Unit and District – brief info below:
NAP North American Pairs – Qualifying Rounds at various clubs during June July and August.
In this split site event, the District 4 winners will be determined as follows. When both sites have 12+ tables of qualified pairs, then 1st place and 2nd place will be awarded to the pairs with the highest percentage scores. If the 1st and 2nd place finishers played at the same site, then the 3rd place District winner will be the highest percentage score at the other site; otherwise the 3rd place District winner will be the pair with the third highest percentage score irrespective of site. If one site has 12+ tables and the other less than 12 tables, then 1st place comes from the larger site, 2nd place from the smaller site, and 3rd place from the larger site. If neither site has 12 tables, then the same method of determining winners will be used as when both sites have 12+ tables.
